Default AMD Outsells Intel

Im telling you its getting mighty cold down under right now. Thats right! All that are reading this can say that they have lived to see the days when AMD outsold Intel. I think this may be the begining of the times when we see people aware of the fact that AMD is indeed a viable, reliable, and currently superior product producer. Has the processor crown changed faces?

Read about it.

That's all well and good, but that's only for one week, in the retail channel, on desktops... that doesn't count the educational, government, or corporate markets(workstations and servers), nor the Intel dominated notebook market.
Hopefully Intel sees the potential and upcoming threat and steps it up... (like nvidia did with the 6800 after their noob fx series [ which Intel is in right now])

Intel has been stepping it up. They just can't do as well as AMD. Other than the Athlon XP series, AMD has consistently outperformed Intel in all aspects of performance (including reliability is what I am implying) at a lower price.

whoh there buddy.. I agree with that, except that AMD systems don't lead in ALL aspects (bandwidth [multimedia apps], is the most blatant difference) and I wouldn't call either chip anymore reliable than the other at this point. AMD used to run super hot, but as far as I can tell, they've taken care of it so they're about even in reliability [ which as far as i'm concerned isn't even an issue anymore until you OC]

With up 1600MHz in bandwidth in AMD's, I dont think that Intel can claim bandwidth.

Agreed, and Intel needed the retail desktop market before it could dominate in the education and corporate markets. If the common users get behind a product then the companies and educational facilities will too. Its a fact.

well memory bandwidth is what I was referring to (ask your local benchmark app.. esp sandra), which is because of the 865/875 chipsets, which are made by intel and used with intel cpu's..

Well since you brought it up. . . AMD's socket 939 uses an onboard dual channel memory controller which kicks the heck outta the memory benchmarks of an intel processor. And in terms of reliability I wouldnt call the socket 775 reliable by any stretch of the imagination. In terms of multimedia, pit a P4 3.4 against a socket 939 running 2.4ghz and see which one comes out on top. lol
