Default Apache questions....

ok, got my new install of apache running - great. not so great. if i create a subdirectory under the root directory, i get this here error : 'The connection was refused when attempting to contact 127.0.0.1' (Firefox 1.0, same in IE 6) when i try go directly to that directory (http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/root_directory/subdirectory). but if i go ahead and go to the file i want to see (http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/root_director...ory/index.html), works like a champ.

any and all help is appreciated!

later

edit: just discoverd that if i put the trailing '/' it also works (Debian box by the way). anyway to overcome this?

If you are using Apache 1.3 or above, you'll need to use either a Location Match or Directory Match directive. Good luck!
