yeah, the beep stands for a problem, whether its your cpu, RAM, or other things. You manual should have the keep codes. It happened to me before.. like one time it was continuous and i think it ended up being my RAM..

he said he DOESN'T get a beep...

double (triple) check the wiring / connections... do the fans turn on? Something could be shorting as well.. check everything possible...

First. Boot with only motherboard, CPU, RAM, and video card. Disconnect all drives. If still no boot, start with video card. Change it if you can. If not, reseat it. If still no boot, reseat the RAM. If you're using two modules, try one at a time. If still no boot, switch out power supply. If again no boot, motherboard may be bad. Switch out if you can.

Make sure you have power, or that the board isn't shorting out on the case, you have to use "standoffs" to install the board. Some cases don't have them built in so that you have to put them in yourself. They are little brass screw mounts that hold the mobo off of the case.

did you plug in the power supply at all before you had it fully assembled, or plug it in haphazardly into the mobo? thatll fry both the board and th PSU sometimes. or blow upo in your face, but i think we can rule that out, seeing as how you'd have noticed something like that....
