ok, folks, i got the mouseman dual optical today. it´s a funny piece of mouse though it has a resolution of 800 dpi and improved tracking due it´s dual red high power led optical sensors. but who likes red anyway. ok, so i got two uv those ultra(neat)bright blue 5mm leds that can bring up two 2700 mcd (each ofg them was ´bout 10 $) and removed the covering uv the mouse. i noticed that the leds were housed in smll plastic things (i think to secure the right direction for the beam) so they were a bit tricky to get out (of the housing and the pcb) but i mangaed to anyway (shall anybody say raw brutality doesn´t help). then i soldered the blue ones in which took me about 40 seconds each. screw it together again, et voila: it really worx. i take this as evidence that the sensor doesn´t need a certain light spectrum, though you could use green leds, yellow or even white ones.
i also have to say that i recommend that mouse for moddin cause 1.) it´s a good mouse 2.) the smoked plastic base looks good with every color ya coose.
i´m looking forward to recive ya thoughts ´bout it
another good work down there in the
