Default Layoff's and BackStabbin

Well with all the layoffs going on around the Nation, it all seemed so . . . distant.

Well it all came home yesterday at oh say 11:10am. Sitting there working my butt off as ushuwall for local ISP, when up comes the Gen. Manager asking if we're all off the phone we need to have a brief meeting.

Bam, slam, kick, sream, *(&)^^&%^&) . . .. 5 min later the technical staff is unemployed, we were replaced by an outsource company.

Ouch dat hurt. So gave up the keys and packed up my stuff and headed to my new office as I just started my own Biz.

But being that I just started I really now have no income. To be replaced by Idgiots for half the price. Argh it's frustrating. But alas, have to move on.

So I have lost all my bennies and now have to move and cancel stuff. My sites are dead in the water and sometimes partially working here and there for some and not for others. Awaiting the dom mods to get updated everywhere is killing me.

Am finally starting to get email tricklin in. Tired of reading my sob story yet? Well I think I'm done for now. With any luck tomorrow or the next day at the latest DNS should be resolving again correctly for me so my domains once again work and life will go on as it ushuwally does.

Ok, done venting. I left out all the other stuff I really want to say about local ISP company as well I am more professional than to mention their name  :

Laters all.

Sorry about your job.  I fear in these some what uncertain times that more than a few of us will be out looking for a way to put bread on the table.  At least you have your new biz starting up and I hope it works out for you.  Best of luck to you.

Ouch... I also work for a local ISP and I am always waiting for the day.  The one good thing is that the company i work for insources support for two other companies.  That makes my job just a little bit more secure, but not by much.  Most local ISPs are being bought out all around the nation to form more effiecent, large area networks.

Ugh! Man, sorry about what happened with your original job.  However, it looks like things are looking up for you. Congratulations on the cable internet installs and good luck as well on your new biz.

I myself got that yucky feeling of being laid off...and this was from an internship...hahaha! It's all good though.  I now work for Network Operations at school and am learning so much more than I would have ever learned off of the internship.  On top of that, you really can't beat all the free Cisco training I'm getting to boot!  I guess sometimes bad things are actually blessings in disguise.  I hope the same applies to you.

It is hard to know what to say to someone who has been laid off when I am so very frustrated, mad and depressed at my job and would like to find another. I am glad things are working out for you. Maybe there is a light to be found after all.
