PC or MAC Poll

I use PC's mainly because that is what i have always used.  I would not switch to MAC even if i knew them better because of the lack of software.

Because i don't know how to use MAC's  ??? :-X :-/

MAC makes too many false claims to trust them, there 300mhz Motorola cpu's just aint gonna beat out a ghz pc.

They did NOT create the graphical user interface, Xerox did, and that is the worst false claim of them all

I love PCs because you can build your own to what ever specs you like.
Try doing THAT with a MAC.

I agree with admin.  I wouln't run one if you gave it to me 'cause It's a pain to find software for them.  As far as there speed vee_ess on some application I believe a 300 Mhz can compare to a 1 G pentium.  I can't remember the cross overs but there running RISC instruction set that can be much more effective than the CISC of pentiums and Athlons.  Espically if the code is tweked to preform the best it can.  They have so few diffrent proccessors and configurtions that the code can really be tweked for a specific set hardware without shutting out many customers.  Programmers for PC's have to write it be very tolerant of many diffrent standards and hardware specs so it's not as optimised.  But if you can't find the software you want what's the point.  PC's will stay ahead for of MAC's for a long time.

Heh. If a 300mhz mac is equivilent to a 1ghz pentium then why the hell can't my G4 at work run office, photoshop, and i.e. at the same time? The damn thing has trouble opening two office applications even after a fresh reinstall of the whole system. Macs are slow proprietary crap that are only good for really stupid users that don't care if it takes five minutes to load their applications.

Did I even mention the unexplained program errors that cause the program to just close entirely without telling you? Compare this to your car just turning off on the freeway for no reason - or dissapearing all of a sudden. We wouldn't tolerate that very long now would we?

On a 1ghz tbird you can fork a few sessions of quake3 and unreal tournament into the backround, open up 30 web browsers, mail software, icq, aol, word, excel, access, etc. all at once - and then launch Diablo II and play it for a bit. I would like to see the fastest mac in the world do that.

Do they really such that bad.  I can't get my hands on one as no one around here really has one.  I had heard that they were decent for graphic editing and design but after hearing that I begin to doubt they have any redemable quality.  Does others in the office suck that bad to ?

All macs are just as bad./ None can multitask worth a damn and they all suck. I prefer to do my graphics right here on my pc with my huge monitor
