Default Mobo search is on

Time to go back to college is near and i need to upgrade my pitiful comptuer im on now...

Ive been reading reviews of the Soyo Dragon Ultra, and so far im planning on getting that one; anyone who has this board ever have any problems with it?
Also ive read somewhere that harddrives running at 133 today dont really benefit because of some bottleneck (bus speed?); any truth to this

dunno bout the motherboard, but someone showed me several places that had done tests and stuff on hard drives and nothing faster than 100's actually boosted performance over 100's. and 100's were a little faster than the previous ones.

I hear that the WD SE hard drives(8meg buffer) are pretty much the best drive for the money and lots of people are putting them on sale now so you might want to check into those.

If you will wait a couple of weeks, the new mobo's will be avilable to the end user.
The NForce 2, KT400's by everyone.
I will recommend the NForce 2 to be the very best mobo on the market as of 2002.
I read where you are looking at the Dragon Plus Ultra, believe me this is a good mobo, but you can get much better for that much $$. For the price of the Dragon + Ultra, you will be able to get the cream of the crop of about any mobo mfg out there.
The Epox latest KT400, will be the king of VIA OC'ability and stability.
The Epox NForce2 will be the OC'ers dream of a mobo in all catagories. Abit will have some geat entries in these chipsets also.
There are a lot of better performers than the Dragon +, and as stable also.
Hope this gives you something to look at and think about.
