the stock fan is very slow and moves very low about of air

it would be dangerous around 1.8GHz with a stock

2.6 with stock is just impossible
speed will be lowered because of the thermal diode if it gets too hot

high performance hsfs or liquid coolings and other hardcore coolings can get it up to 2.6GHz

Default 478 cooler

I got a diff fan for it.. didnt want to take the chance with the stock fan, though it is alot louder now ;(.. on here somewhere i read about the ball bearing on the fan getting noisy.. that seems to be happening.. not dusty , i bet its just a bad fan anyway.. was only $15 its a vantec rated at 3 ghz..

sometimes its the blade design that makes it loud

also a large amount of air moving in a small area also makes loud noise
so dont worry too much

tell us how ur overclocking adventure goes

Default overclocking adventure

I first went to 2.1 ghz *the other default setting along with 1.6 for my board p4t533-c* and went through pc and 3d mark tests.. everything seemed fine so i put on some liquid thermal stuff and put her to the limit *150/38 is the highest setting the mboard will allow* that put it to 2.4 .. i read in an article http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.c...id=1130&page=1 that at 2.4 stability problems would be encountered and i would need to increase voltage to 1.65.. i never experienced the problems so kept it at 1.5.. now off to video card adventures..

Default OC

Yes its 1.6a.. the asus p4t533-c only supports 150 fsb so i can only get up to 2.4 ghz .. i was going to shoot for 2.6 but 2.4 will have to do
