Athlon XP 2800+ and Intel P4 2.8GHz Comparison

X-bit Labs has just posted their performance comparison of the Athlon XP 2800+ and the Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz:

As we can see from the final rendering results described in the section above, both processors tested run very close to one another. Final rendering is mostly done by the FPU that is why despite Athlon's twice as small cache and lower clock frequency, it more powerful mathematical co-processor allowed the CPU to prove really efficient.
