Welcome back,

Yes your posts were sorely missed  ;D

So you decided to leave before it snowed huh? I can't remember the last time I had a white christmas.

How was your trip? Come on tell us all about it, we want to hear it all.

Not much to hear.

I wore shorts when I got up there. The temp was only like 65. The next day I was in long pants and a sweater.

I did not see any of my old friends, they all moved away. I looked at some land, but did not see anything that I liked. I am going to GA, SC and NC to look next. I am only looking for about 5 acres.

Got boring gifts - shirts, candles, glasses and stuff.

My Mom has a new dog. She broke my tooth, gave me a fat lip, chipped a nail and ripped a shirt. She is getting better now that she is passed the terrible twos!

My older brother is getting shorter, my younger brother is getting fatter. My younger brothers wife actually spoke to me. Usually she goes and hides somewhere.

My nephew (older brothers son) has decided to go full time into religion when he graduates high school. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find religious rock music in the Bible Belt?

Other than that it was pretty boring. I stayed around the house and relaxed as much as possible. I really needed the rest. I have not had a real vacation in like 2 1/2 years. No wonder I was becoming a witch!

I stayed at home for New Years with a nicely chilled bottle of wine. My New Years resolution is to be Optomistic and Happy. If I get the first one, the second should come naturally. I think I will also add learning how to spell.

How was your Christmas and New Year.

I was in the SC & NC area last summer (Myrtle Beach to be specific) and it is soo nice there.  I would look for something near the ocean yet far enough a way there arent many tourists passing you.  Have fun!

cc_dex, I live in the tourist capital of the world. Not only do we get tourist from all over the world, we get snow birds from NY, MI and Canada. We get the druggies and the alchoholics passing through on their way to Disney, Plus we get all the "imports".

I don't bother trying to see the beach here this time of year because there a more bikinis (man and women) than during the summer! Let me tell you - have you ever see a Sumo wrestler in a bikini? I went blind for three weeks one time.

Myrtle Beach does happen to be on my list of places though. I look forward to seeing it now. You never know. It could be my next home.

Hi Propig and welcome back.

Sounds like you have an 'all american family' .  About the same here on the 'Redneck Reviera'. If you wonder where that is- well just ask me.

You could come down here and buy land, we got it all, I mean everything here. Beaches too !  This is reported to be the original "Garden Of Edin". No joke either ! Once here, you'll never leave !
All this and just a little ways away !

Let's see...
Can't be Key West - that would not be redneck country(they think they aren't part of the US anyway). Could be Panama City - lots of rednecks, lots of partying, near the beach and close to lots of land. Not Savannah - too classy. Maybe Daytona - good car racing, lots of rednecks, not too far from the National Forest and near the beach too.... I don't think there are any rednecks that would venture into the bayou, so Louisiana is out of the question. Could be California - oops! I don't think rednecks would dare venture into that territory either. I don't know diddley about the middle of the US. Texas? No - cowboys not rednecks. Michigan? Near Big water, lots of land, only the wrong side of the Mason Dixon line. Do they grow rednecks up north? I have only been to New York, DC and Maine. Lots of Loud people in NY, Stuck up in DC and Maine was a bunch of hard up dufuses - followed me around like they had never seen a girl before. May be in Australia. LOTS of water, open land. But I don't think they would be called rednecks....

If I had to guess, I would go for Daytona first, then my second guess would be Panama City. My friend says it has to be in Texas.

Am I close? Tell me, tell me, tell me!

Well, your second guess was close, it is actually the Tallahassee Fl area. Anywhere on US 98 from Perry Fl to Apalachicola and Mexico Beach, Fl , all that is the Redneck Reviera.  This includes St George island, Ile De-shiene ( Dog Island ) etc , along the coastal route. Known as the Big Bend Area of North Fl.

If you've never been down here you sure are missing lots of 'smoked mullet', oysters on the half shell, uncrowded beaches  etc. If you listen to country music, well, Tom T Hall has an entire album about this area, 'Redneck Reviera'. You can download one mp3 titled "Lost in Florida"  as a sample. And I have a cabin on the beautiful, pristene, unpolluted Sopchoppy River that I dearly love spending time at.
So now you know.
