Default V7+ not performing as good as expected.

I just recently bought a Volcano 7+ a few days ago, but 12 hours before it arived i blew my XP1600+ douh! So i had to bung in my Duron, however it's not quite what i expected as The Duron 800 is running @ 1024Mhz (128FSB) @ 45~51*C (Low) fan speed, (Med) 40~49*C (high) 39~46*C. Seems high considering the case is open & have a 80mm 1900rpm (Suck) front fan & a 3400rpm (Blow) back fan Also i am using ArticSilver 3.

Any ideas?

if ya got the case open no fans exept the cpu fan do any good. in an open case, no constructed airflow can occur, even if ya theoretically put the fans in the right position, or do ya think the air stays in there because its so funny. and, no insulting, nobody knows if ya use the AS3 in the right way. adn one more thing left, the duron is built using 18 micrometer technology, so he likes getting hot when overclocking. tell us what heatsink-fan u was usin previously, and the temps please. ya also gotta know that the AS3 needs about 48 hours for the tiny silver parts to settle in the right position, so ya will get "real" temps 2 days after installing the HSF.

the right way is to apply a thin, as thin as possible, layers on both cpu and hsf, and then, wait 72(sorry, wrong in first post) hours for the small silver particles to settle in the small groves (ya can use ya pc during this period, but the temps may occur to fall a little bit in the first 72 hours. look up the users guide @ http://www.articsilver.com/arctic_si...structions.htm

The V7+ should perform quite well. I did a review on it and I was quite happy with it. Make sure that the speed is set to high.

is it noisy on high speed? i mean my relation to noisy is a bit krippled, since my cpu fan is 'bout 50 db, but i mean can ya hear the hdd workin when the fan is set to high? i cannot hear mine ;D

some say only core or hsf, some say both, i only perform it on the hsf cuz it is the easiest way and ya can be assured to get all the core covered
