Default Is the A7V600 incompatable with D-link?

Hello,

I just got my Asus A7V600 in today and all is well. Well, that's a lie, 1 thing is wrong, other than the BS temperature readings (51C idle, 55C load w/water cooling, I think not). Along with the mobo, I got a D-link DWL-520+ to run off a wireless network in my apartment. Upon installation of the software/card/drivers, my system would hang. Not crash, hang. I went into Safe Mode and disabled the card, booted up to Windows, and all is fine. I contacted D-link's coustomer service, and they couldn't help me, or tell me anything I didn't already know. I updated the bios to the latest version on Asus's site, still no go. I disabled all other network devices on the system to see if there was a conflict, still no go. I checked their site to see if there were any new drivers, and of course, there were none.

The only thing I haven't done is move the card to a different PCI slot, but I really doubt that would do anything, because I checked the manuel and it looks as if the slot I have it in is not conflicting with anything.

Is this a compatablility issue, or is there something wrong with the card? It's no problem for me to RMA it, but that is last on my mind now because I move to the new apartment in a week, so the transit time/RMA time would throw this into the end of August doing me no good.

What do you think? I haven't contacted Asus yet, but their tech support wasn't open when I called earlier. I'll probably try Monday if I haven't resolved this issue before then.

Any help would be appreciated,

Great....I'll probably just send the D-link back to Googlegear and have them replace it with a Linksys.

try a different slot, it should be assigned a different settings. Ever thought might not be a irq conflict, but a memory conflict, or I/O conflict??

Yeah, I thought about that. I checked to see, and it looks as if there are not any conflicts with the slot I have it in, PCI 4. The manuel says that it shares IRQs with PCI 6 and PCI 1, which have nothing installed in them....I'll try it in a different slot anyway, maybe I'll get lucky...

I moved PCI slots, and it didn't do the trick....I'll just send it back and get a Linksys.

I am having the same problem with my Dlink dwl-520+ or 108Mbps wireless network card. You said that you sent your card back and got a linksys. Did that linksys solve your problem. By the way, I have a A7V600 mobo.
