to use dual channel you must use ram in pairs ie 2 256 sticks for a total of 512

only you can answer that question, determine when your needs are greater, now or down the line, 256 or 512. Patience comes into play here.

depend if you want to risk it or not

i wouldnt
im guessing that thing would only hit around 185 at max
alot of the generic ones are overrated when it comes to PC3200

but if you really want to go ahead with it, and if you can return it within maybe a few days, then why not

it will save you lots of cash

is OCZ 512MB (2 x 256MB) PC3200 DDR400 Dual Channel Memory, Cooper Heat Spreaders good?? what about Corsair 256MB DDR 400MHz (PC 3200) 184Pin Memory, with Heat Spreader, Non-ECC, OEM??

OCZ Rev 2.0 Performance Series 256MB PC3200 DDR 400MHz..what about that? and Ultra Extreme Memory 256MB PC3200 DDR 400MHz...is that any good?

and lastly what about this...Samsung DDR 400MHz 256MB (PC 3200) 184Pin Memory, Non-ECC, OEM

OCZ is a good brand... They have good memory. Also Corsair and Geil, if you can get them...

It depends on what you're going to use it for. If you're not overclocking, Crucial and Samsung are great. If you do oc, you're going to want to go with higher performance memory - Geil and OCZ are brands I've seen used a lot.

no no
dont listen to that mumbo jumbo

you have to own an OCZ to know what its like...
looks can be sooooooooo deceiving...
i think they are hiding some 5ns chips under those spreaders...
spreaders arent that necessary
they only spread heat, dont dissipate it

i HAVE the OCZ PC3200 512mb (2x256) dual channel kit
gave me a ton of trouble on the nforce2 chipsets
still arent performing as well as they should
not even hitting 200

go with Crucial if you arent overclocking
or the samsung

it will save you alot of money
