Default DVD-R in lappy

Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions. I just got a DVD-RW drive and I've made a few disks. Unfortunetly, none will work in my laptop, but they'll work in all other machines. The drive in my laptop is a Matshita DVD-ROM SR-8176. Might anyone know of some sort of firmware upgrade or something for this? It's no biggie really, but it would be nice to be able to play them in this machine...

Won't even read it. It hardly even tries, almost like there's nothing in there. I forgot to mention these where DVD+ disks. I donno if DVD- would work any better...

You might want to install Elaborate Bytes new DVD burning software and see what it says your drive can do.
