My Eurocom 1200 won't make a sound

Well it makes the normal noises (fan etc), but the sound card is silent. I've read the manual, adjusted the sound volume, tried updating the drivers, tried playing the usual Windows sounds, .wav files, CDs - all with no effect. Can anyone suggest a diagnostic strategy to figure this problem out. Perhaps I've missed something obvious.

If this is not the right place to ask this question, perhaps some can suggest another forum

Try installing the sound card in another system to see if the card actually works. If it does, try completely uninstalling the drivers and the sound card and reinstalling it.

Well I couldnt move the card, the sound chips are on the system board. But I did try removing the device and reinstalling it, and that worked. It seems so easy, I probably should have thought to do it myself. Anyway, I'm happy and now listening to my music. Thanks alot for your help.
