Default cd rom problem help!!

Anyone can help me!!

I had a samsung combo drive and a lg cd rom 52x drive installed in athlon 2000xp pc and it runs very well. I stop using my pc 5 months ago because i sell my processor and mb for upgrade. Now, i re-assemble my pc using athlon 2500. The problem is that my cd drives cannot read anymore can read only on time. Im using A7V400-mx mb. Is it my new motherboard has the problem or my cd rom drive? Is there any connection to the power supply? Can you give me some procedure to correct this problem?

Thanks.

I don't see why the monthboard would be your problem if your connections (IDE and 12v) are all fine. If your connections are fine I'd start doubting your drives. just for an added measure, you should use the drive(s) that didnt work on another PC to make sure its the drive and not the mobo.

I didnt test my drive to other computer because it is functional and runs very well before i replaced my mobo and processor. i suspected mobo because it is newly installed and i got drive problem. Anyway i try your advise.

I had also noticed that the voltage display on the "warspeeder monitor" for -12v, it display 1.38v, -5v to 5.28v respectively. Is it ok?

Thanks a lot
