Hmmm....Slow video/processor (most of us hate Nvidia and don't care for P4)...Nice ram, just not enough of it...The case is ok, but it's a mid tower case, so you may have some heat problems down the road...I'm not very familure with the sound, we mostly deal with Soundblaster...Samsung makes a good monitor, but 17" is just a bit too small for my taste....

Overall, I say you've got a good overclockable system, the first step is to attack that. You're going to have a bit of a noisy fan setup because it is a mid tower case, and your video is becoming quite outdated, so you may want to think about upgrading to something newer as well as getting another stick of 512 ram, because some games are starting to need 1GB to even start to run smoothly.

Overall I give it a 6.5/10, it has some real potential, and if you put the right amount of money in it, you should end up with a really cool system, also if you don't already have one, we highly recommend an Antec powersupply, cheap ones will die on you in a heart beat.

yea thanx a ton for the advice, i forgot to mention my PSU is 500watts so i think im set, its Powmax and i think that is a decent brand. its not Fortron but it gets the job done. Yea my geforce4 ti4200 is horrible, absolutely horrible. But hey as long as it plays CS at max settings i cant complain to much. But hey thanx a ton for the advice.

Be aware! I have had 3 PowMax PSUs die, and 1 burn a motherboard, they are horrible, you really need to spend some $$ on an Antec. Also, I'm selling a motherboard, CPU and Video card for $400, a Asus board with a XP 3000+ and a Radeon 9800 Pro video card. Let me know if your interested...I'm upgrading to a X800 XT PE video card next week when they come out...

Default VERY INTERESTED

Wow i would be super interested but the only problem is the lack of funds but hey keep that offer on the table. Yea i am going to go with the Hitech radeon 9800 pro http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...161-109&depa=0
because it is nice and keeps the gpu frozen solid (sort of)
But yea, why arent u going with the Nvidia 6800 ultra GT, if u look at these benchmarks ull see that it gets better ratings then the X800's by far.
Check this: http://www.tomshardware.com/graphic/...i-x800-12.html
but yea i mean it all depends on if your an nvdia guy or not, i mean ive heard that people with the 6800 ultras get 3dmark03 scores of over 12000 which is sick! and i dont even want to think of what the ATI's will get. But yea this is a good conversation.

~Peace

I despise Nvidia, and BTW, ATI blew them out of the water on that Tom's Hardware review. The new Nvidia may just sit side-by-side with the X800 XT, but I won't buy Nvidia ever again, they screwed me twice.

gnogtr is too hard on you.. that comp owns.. the video is good enough and he has a better chip than me.. it's not slow.. 512 is good enough for everything except lineage and bf1942.... he's got zalman on the cpu so he prob won't be OC'ing much but it prob isn't too loud..
