Default Building PCI-E Machine

I have built my own PC for a while now. I am at a crossroads, as I know for game graphics reasons I will need to upgrade in the next 6 months or so, but I am trying to go about it in the most sensible way.

As it stands, since I need to get a next generation video card, which is going to be on pci-e, I will need an entirely new system based on a pci-e motherboard. I have been so used to just upgrading piece-by-piece that this upgrading all at once has me dragging my heels.

Any suggestions for minimizing my expense as I switch over from my agp motherboard and system to a new pci-express motherboard and system?

I am basically going to have to get a new motherboard, video card and cpu at the same time.
