Conflicting launches: DirectX 9 and ATI's "NVidia
Only months ago, DirectX 9 was expected to be available by September, but now, according to industry sources,it is not likely to be around until early October. This will be quite a while after ATI's "NVidia-buster", the R300, reminding us of what happened with their Radeon 8500. It was distributed with with the beta version of DirectX 8.1, which caused you to either re-install Windows or do quite a bit of registry modifying, just to install the new API (application program interface). As for ATI's mid-July launch of the R300 and the RV250, it is not known how ATI will solve this.
MadOnion's PCMark 2003 will be out with, not before, the launch of DX9.

There's an option for most vehicles that increases brake horsepower, increases mileage, increases driver control, lasts longer than the alternative, and even reduces the price of the vehicle. Despite all this, most people in this country choose the alternative, an automatic transmission.

Re: Conflicting launches: DirectX 9 and ATI's "NVi
I don't think many people like them, myself included. I have been a fan of NVidia since the STB 128ZX became the best overall card. At the time, any card that was good at graphics couldn't do anything else, and then NVidia changed that.
Anyways, ATI has been planning this attack at NVidia for a while, and it will be interesting to see what they come back with.

I think ATI hardware is good but they need to develop better drivers.
