"SiS has always been an active chipset manufacturer in the PC industry. While they are famous for their many mainboard chipsets for both the AMD and Intel platforms, their previous attempts at graphics chipsets have often been unheard of, most of their products being limited down to integrated graphics or used in lower end systems. In an effort to boost the reputation of their graphics chipsets, SiS recently launched their Xabre line of graphics chipsets, targeted to compete with the midrange cards such as the Radeon 7500 and GeForce4 MX from rival makers, nVidia and ATI.
