Default Security how Linux is helping windows userz

Linux users have come up with the idea to protect there clients that are using windowz O/S

MIME Defanger is a flexible MIME e-mail scanner designed to protect Windows clients from viruses. It can alter or delete various parts of a MIME message according to a very flexible configuration file. It can also bounce messages with unnaceptable attachments. MIME Defanger works with Sendmail 8.10's new "Milter" API, which gives it much more flexibility than procmail-based approaches.

Introduction
With the proliferation of e-mail trojans and viruses, e-mail is
becoming a preferred mechanism for attacking PC's.  The best way to avoid these trojans and viruses is not to use any insecure client software on your PC (especially software from Microsoft, which is notorious for security problems.)  Use Linux as your operating systemand one of many excellent e-mail packages as your mail client.:O)

Unfortunately, for many, switching away from installed commercial software is not an option.  Therefore, MIMEDefang was created.  If software manufacturers will not fix their problems, then we must take matters into our own hands and add a layer of protection around the insecure legacy software.

Default Network Associates

I know a guy that is working on "Web-Shield". It is a project from network associates that scans all incoming internet traffic. Very hardcore, the big one does something like 500 e-mails per minute so it in no way slows down your internet connection. It is a easy but not so cheap alternative. Aimed at the very big corporations.
Probably better than the linux alternative, but if your IT department does not have funding, well then I guess the alternative is for you...!!
Many tuts and stuff out there on how to make your own one based on a linux box.
Looks like someone just went out there and made a package for linux and made everyones lives that much easier...!!
