I have heard about doing that.  You might want to talk with aprozak about that.  He posted and article on there awhile back about changing the LED from red to blue.  He will probally respond to this with his link once he gets on.

yeah blue seems like a better fitted color for the mouse.  It is just boring seeing red all the time and everyone has red.  I hope that aprozack will respond once he gets on.

it was me simply get the mouse open, check size of led (3 or 5 mm) get led in matching shape, desitred color, as bright as possible, small "radiaton angle" and change them, should be normal 2.7 - 3.2 volt leds. little tip: take infrared leds, nobody will see ya mouse doing anything, no lights, no balls ;D
but it works ( i've never seen my name crippled as often as in this thread)

So do you think that i could pick up any led bulb at any electronic store right, do you have any idea on how much they might cost.  I heard that they are quite cheap.

[glow=dodgerblue,4,300]-=aoC|PRoZaK=-[/glow]

you missspelled it again >

ANY blue led won't work: 1st: its gotta be a 5 mm one. 2nd: its gotta be a high power one (as much power as possible to prevent the sensor from delivering wrong or no information caused by too weak leds. 3rd: its gotta be a 2.7 up to 3.2 volts one, leds with less will burn , leds with more will be dimm.

ya welcome (but only if ya spell my name the right way -> you can check my name out on any of the bout 700 posts i made yet. ;D

you might even want to try out different led colors and how you like them on a cheap optical mouse like the 7.99 one at fry's electronics

anyone thought about selling differently-color led optical mouses?
