Default Copy protection overrided by shift, illegal computer setting

BMG's newest copy protection is loaded by the autoload function. We all know that the shift key overrides overload. Basically, if you abide by the letter of the law, you are in gross violation of the DMCA. But as any worthy geek knows, autoload is just silly. Mine is turned off on all my computers, and will always be. Guess what, the way I have configured MY computer to run, is also a violation of the DMCA. I swear I'm moving to Canada when they make choosing my OS other than Windows a violation of federal law. Oh, WAIT!! Actually, it COULD be interpreted that loading the CD in MacOS or Linux or any non-MS system is a violation of the DMCA since the copy protection seems to only work in Windows. What next, CIA snooping on me when I don't use Intel's Palladium??

The frightening thing about this is that the RIAA execs keep repeating that they are unconcerned. This reaction makes me believe that they may use the DMCA very soon in their fight against song-swapping. Afterall, if you have an mp3 of this copy-protected CD on your computer, you had to circumvent copy-protection scheme. Forget the fact that you have copied copyrighted material, you are a terrorist. The FBI can deal with you, and we'll sit by and watch you pay for your own prosecution.
