Default Is Morpheus Belly-up ?

Since last Tues Morpheus has been down, unaccessable. Is Morpheus now going the way of Napster ?  Well, it appears that they are, better look around for another program. WinMx is good one -without any spyware- one of the best out there.
Here is the scoop on Morpheus:

I really do not think that they are totally gone.  You can download the New Morhpeus preview edition and it works just fine.  I actually think that it works better than the last.

Update on Morpheus,
Obviously they had problems-  the CEO said this - inpart:

"StreamCast/Morpheus CEO Steve Griffin
This week MusicCity and Morpheus users suffered dual attacks. First, early this week MusicCity's servers were hit by a massive Denial of Service attack. Soon thereafter, Morpheus users found that a separate attack had been launched on their computers and their Morpheus software programs."

Going to the old site will only tell you that you need to update. Best to go to link below and start the update process.

Keefe, I agree, also like the new edition better.

Not so sure I didn't mis-speak above about likeing the preview edition better. After setting it all up and trying a few searches and downloads, it appears to have problems. The downloads are slow as Christmas if you can find them.
For some reason I don't have near the big library of selections as on the old ver. Nor the number of subscribers on line. Oh well, maybe things will improve.

ack! stop using kazaa.  kazaa is so horribly filled with spyware, true you get the tiny personal firewall and maybe filter it out that way, but its too much of a hassle.  Kazaa re-installs the spyware every time the program is loaded so you cant just get rid of it once. morpheus is a good program as spyware is concerened, but not that they are just like gnutella there are a lot of downfalls. WE NEED CUTEMX BACK! :'(

I read on fucked company.com that Morpheus went down because they did not pay their lisensing fees to streamcast and they cut them off.

If anybody wants a RELIABLE, Non-spyware and where the creator will listen to your suggestions, go to Filespree.com and download File Spree.  Not a newbie-to-computers program because it deals with servers but im betting every member could use it with no trouble.  It is great how it features Browse a user's list.

file-spree huh... the problem with smaller file sharing programs is that they dont have anything on them. as for morpheus, yeah they did get kicked off b/c they didnt pay fees.  They claim that they didnt pay them b/c in kazaa's software they could get into your computer.  There's a lot of bad blood between kazaa and morpheus that we are jsut starting to hear about.
