Default Please help me to get into my Network Neighborhood

I have got a cable internet connection through lan card. when i double click on the network icon, it shows the entire network icon, then when i double click on that it says that its unable to browse network and the network is not accessable...and when i right click and goto properties it says that the properties are not avaible...any one knows what is wrong?!?

could be a lot of things. first of all make sure you're in the same workgroup.

wait just on cable? are there other computers connected to your router? or are you just one computer connected to cable

Yhea, if your the only computer on your router, you won't see anything. You can still connect to the net and use the 'net just like you should. If you have computers on the network in the house, you have to have shared resorces(ie, folder or drive) before you can browse the network. At least with 98 you have to share something on another computer before you can browse it. Otherwise you get errors.

right-click on your network neighborhood, then go to identification
