What specific settings do i need to change to over clock to.....say...1.7

I thought you already had a 1.7.. get a prog called clockgen at cpuid.com - here is what i'm at.

Didn't you build your own comp? There really should be an option in the bios for it. I doubt they disguised it that much.

FSB.. basically it - clock speed.. common sense should tell - look for someone else with your mobo - maybe they hid it in there.

Found my manual controls for fsb *only goes backwards not forwads

My comp is now 1.73 ghz

Shall I go higher or stay?

if your fsb goes back, how did you get it 30 mhz higher? I'd go MUCH higher (even though the 1.7 is kinda a pos - a friend of mine has one and we got his to like 2.1) just push it 5 mhz at a time until problems arise. My mobo resets itself when you OC too high but yours probably doesn't, so you'd probably have to reset it with the battery and jumper every time you go too high.
It's a lot of work but worth it - but it gets addicting.. *needs a new psu so he can chill at 3.4 ghz reliably*

no no no here.......

it goes 100mhz to 200 mhz

the + button doesnt work....

so i have to push the - button and it goes from 100 to 200 and then 199 198 197 i just have to go backwards

so how much further can i go i have 4 fans + cpu fan

There are two factors.. 1) heat and 2) how high your cpu/ram/mobo can go.. you keep ocing until you either get too hot or you get stability problems. Then you back it off a bit.I can't boot at 3.5 ghz but I can run 95% stable at 3.4 :/ it's a big game
