Default iPod competitors that pile on the features

We've seen quite a few MP3 players that want to take down the wildly popular iPod, but none have yet matched Apple's stellar design. In terms of features, however, several 20GB players have trumped the iPod; find out if one is for you.

as an owner of an iHP-120 and someone who has played with the iPod, I can safely say that the iHP-120 beats it hands down in every category _including_ design. every feature can be accessed via the backlit, LCD remote, unlike the iPod's remote, which is barely functional for a 20GB player. Throw in audio recording, line in/out ana/digi, and FM radio w/ multi-region presets and DOUBLE the battery life of the iPod at like $100 less, there is no reason to get the iPod anymore. Oh, did I mention there is no need for extra software to load your music? what more can you ask for?

if it makes you feel any better, i don't have a land-line phone, and keefe can attest to how shitty my cellphone is. if anyone is interested, you can get the 40gig version of the iHP from amazon for "only" 370 now, with MIR. so, if you are in the market, now is a pretty good time to buy.

Unless you get the POS H2's at about 40K. H1's are far superior. And yeah, we do have more and more in common every day.
