there really is no other body in which it is sensible to have net laws other than the UN. MAYBE the WTO, but not really, as I don't consider browsing/chatting to be trade issues, though maybe some types of required openness by the WTO would be cool, in order to make internet commerce more viable and trustworthy. If not the UN, then maybe something like the ISO could do the standard setting and governing. alot of it comes down to what you want goverend and what you dont' what goverened, and how those things should be goverened. i.e. we probably all agree standards are good things, but i doubt anyone would want them enforced per se. so, yea, my thoughts. the US should not be making laws for the rest of the world. (I say this as an American)

There should be something similar to a democracy, the more of global economy of your country (percent) there is...the more say you get in the court(more reps) IE china would get 30-45 % US 20-40% etc etc i dont know the numbers

i swear i posted a response to this.... prom, do you really think democracy should be influenced by the prosperity of a nation. I can see a system like that in the IMF and World Bank which are essentially, kinda, donor bodies and is therefore more like a private charitable group, but something that's supposed to be democratic, having a vote counted by how rich you were, that sounds ridiculous. What if things were like that in the US?

yea I don't want a communist country controlling more net than anyone else.. besides, you know how china controls their citizens' right to access the net so they don't know that their way of life sucks? Yea... this topic sucks imo anyway..
