Default New Monitor

Say I had up to 500 dollars to spend and I wanted to get the best 17" flat panel monitor I could afford, not necessarily 499.99 but it's a possibility. Where could I find one that would work good for very fast paced games and would also look cool (black).

I'll admit, Dell's are very nice looking but they have ghosting due to their 25ms compared to around 10-12 ms
