Ahh the joy of graphics and HTML.
We all love it.
It has brought us pieces of history like Yahoo etc that have changed the face of the 'net.
However, if we want to look @ most of the importent events in internet history, you will not be able to find them on the WWW. The live in Usenet land.
Google has recently (Dec 11) put together a archive of 20 years of Usenet messages, which is the most complete to date, with over 700 MILLION messages archived.
Some jems I have found are:
Linus Torvalds announcement of Linux to comp.os.minux in 1991 can be found
here.
The announcement of UUNET, the worlds first ISP can be found
here.
The (ground breaking) accouncement of the WWW Project in 1991 (these days known as the 'net) can be found
here.
There is just too many to list, first mention of Microsoft, first ever Usenet message.
History Deluxe.
