Default Just an Opinion

It is probably accurate to suggest "America is obsessed with Iraq". It's also understandable that our dominance has itself become abit of a political obstacle overseas, due in large part to jealously.

But WHY is America obsessed with Iraq? I don't think the Germans, the French, and other anti-war types really understand the importance behind the US' "obsession". I believe they get very colored viewpoints from our left-leaning media. How often does Dubya or his team ever get supportive coverage (w/ the exception of Fox News)? How is it that "most Americans" (and 1/2 the world) continue to believe this to be a just war, yet by listening to the media, you'd think we're bucking the world, or goin' in "unilaterally"? ...in other words, I think Dubya's message gets Very tainted. (Ever wonder why Clinton's 1998 4-day missile attack wasn't lambasted by the media? What did that acheive, anyway?)

As for the cause of removing Saddam - In 1938, if Hitler had attained WMD, would the "world" have protected him the way they protect Saddam? There really is no difference! Saddam teaches hate/fear, just as Hitler did. The one dangerous difference I see in this is that an unfettered Saddam won't provide us with any defined enemy. His work has and will continue to be done via payments to "terrorists", suicide-accepting, religious zealots who will kill anyone their told to kill ..."in the name of Allah". We won't be able to blame Iraq - just the dead guy, and veiled org like "Al Queda" or "Hamas", if they take credit. (It's like arresting a drug peddlar, but ignoring the kingpin.)

Dubya wants Saddam out so that a democratic Iraq can learn to accept the value of life/liberty, and provide the rest of the region stability and a future framework toward peace. For those pundits and fools who continue to think this is just about Oil or Revenge, they just continue to ignore everything they should have learned thru our history. Why did America help in WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and scores of other smaller nations. Was it ALL for US interest, or in large part, world peace & human rights?

Just an opinion...

I agree...

Here is my take on it which is the same as the media ignored reason of the President.

The United States was attacked by a hostile force. Per the Constitution, the Presided is duty bound to protect the United States.

Saddam left unchecked would use force to control the Middle East. He did invade both Iran and Kuwait didn't he? He has Chemical and Biological weapons and attempting to build nuclear weapons.

Osama Bin Laden has tens of millions of people that support him and his cause. He himself is the son of a Saudi Billionaire and reported to have over 200 million dollars. People here in the US were arrested this week for raising over 20 million for al Qaeda. Imagine how many others on the planet that are funneling money to them.

What if we left Iraq alone. He builds 10 nulear weapons. He sells just ONE of them to al Qaeda. They explode it in Washington DC.

Poof, our government is wiped out alone with a few million more people.

If anyone thinks that would never happen. I'll bet you along with the rest of us thought highjacking FOUR planes at the same time was impossible too.

We underestimated them once. Thank God our President has the balls to make sure it wont happen again.

We will stomp Iraq when the goa ahead is given so I have no worried about them, it is the damn north korean's that worry me... nt because they are a great military power but because there leader is retarded and from what I honestly hear does nothing but watchg cartoons and anime all day long, that give him a warped perception of the world and that is not good as a leader when it comes to war, like it is some big glorious thing. Freaks me out man!

AI You are right on with N Korea.
This guy has been playing computer games for most of his life.
He has gotton so good at playing the military games that he has been virtually impossible to beat on the computer.
He still does this, I don't remember the name of the game he has been playing for all these years.
It is a strategy game with building a country, army, government etc.
All the necessary stuff qualifing to become a winner at this game.
His championship was won when he was 13yr old.

Fact: Most of America's oil comes from Venesuela, which is kinda of going through a few problems right now.

as for the war, I don't know. We'll definetly go to war, there is no doubt about that. There is so many hidden truths behind the war (as with alot of wars).

is highly unlikely any terriorist will ever be able to explode a nuclear bomb indside the US. They're too big to get past customs. The most they could do get some small nuclear materal, and explode that with a normal explosive. That would spread nuclear materal throughout the region making alot of people sick.

Any actual nuke they could get past customs would have to be small, really small. Maybe enough to destroy a few houses. And they coulden't get it anywhere near the white house with all the paranoia-based security that 9/11 caused.

True, getting a nuke through customs wouldn't work. However, put one on a cargo ship and then detonate it as it enters port before it gets to customs and you get the same effect. That's the scary thing about nukes, you don't have be downtown with it to get results.

Or the most scarry of all them.
OsamaBinLaden says in the last video they have from him last month, he says he will punish the Eagle by going out in a flame. Since this guy is slowly passing away anyhow, this would make him a mortor like he says he wants to be in that same tape.
There is nothing that would prevent him from getting into a airplane, with a major nuke.
Discuised as a private jet from somewhere, have a good pilot driving the plane at a very high altitude.
Even if the USAF chases this plane and forces it down, that would be exactly what he would want.
What a disaster!!
