i cant access the network neighborhood icon!!

help!! when i double click on the network icon, it shows the entire network icon, then when i double click on that it says that its unable to browse network and the network is not accessable...and when i right click and goto properties it says that the properties are not avaible...any one knows what is wrong?!? and in the network tab properties i have a "NDISWAN-> WAN Miniport", and a "WAN miniport" am i suppose to have those or what.....HELP ME PLEASE, seriously i have to know. i have windows 98 second edition. also is it possible if a hacker can get through the zone alarm firewall. i have my settings on high and i enable the screensaver lock.
