Hey, i just today learned about the TCPA and how bad it is. I could summarize it here but i won't, you have to go read it at http://www.againsttcpa.com/ Put one of their banners on your site, i did! *click my "www" if u wanna see it (it's on the bottom)* If this tcpa goes... i'll prob get thrown in jail and shot .. if not i'll run away and be a hermit.. it's that bad!

Yes. The TCPA is a very bad group full of wanna be computer fags with mouses and keyboards stuck up their asses. We all hate them here, and unfortunately, they are nothing new. I think someone had your avatar in thier signature before. Don't worry man, they will not win.

Default Trusted Computing TCG (TCPA)

Long article...a MUST READ for all interested in Trusted Computing...

EFF Report on Trusted Computing

http://invisiblog.com/1c801df4aee49232/

"...But let us begin with some positive elements of the EFF report. This is perhaps the first public, critical analysis of TC which fails to include two of the worst lies about the technology, lies promulgated primarily by Ross Anderson and Lucky Green: that only authorized programs can run "trusted", and that unauthorized or illegal programs and data will be deleted from computers or prevented from running.

The EFF appears to recognize the key feature of TC, which gives it its name: that trust is in the eye of the truster. Anyone can create code which benefits from TC features, and it is up to the user of a computer to decide which local and remote software he will trust..."

and later in the article:

"...Make no mistake about it: TC is coming. All the rhetoric, all the protests and objections, are doing nothing to alter the apparently unstoppable momentum of this new technology. Microsoft is committed to NGSCB (Palladium), and the TCG (TCPA) is working actively on specs for cell phones and other devices. There is even considerable work to bring TC into Linux..."

Here is the complete report onf TCG(TCPA) by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF)
http://www.eff.org/Infra/trusted_com...0031001_tc.php[/i]

PLEASE take the time to read this in its entirety before making a judgement.

"The TCPA was founded 1999 by Compaq, HP, IBM, Intel and Microsoft. But in the meantime around 200 companies joined them. You will find Adobe, AMD, Fujitsu-Siemens, Gateway, Motorola, Samsung, Toshiba and many other well known companies. IBM already sells first desktops and notebooks with integrated TPM."

yeh computer fags with keyboards up their asses.

and another thing.. don't speak for everyone..especially me.. i don't hate them and i'm here. I think some of you just look for a place to grab a stance.. once you read anything that has opinions against a group you go after it. a lot of people here are like that, and some lack simple judgement. I don't fully agree with what they're doing obviously.. it just seems like another USA Patriot Act sort of reasoning ( yes i have read the entire act -- both of them -- , have you?). Do you even know your rights? I suggest taking a better look at what rights you do have before talking shit. Also consider the lost money all of those companies have encurred by your software pirating.. and i'm sure its funny to you.. but they also have rights being a business just like you do being a citezen. i suggest you wise up and see what they're faced with. I do not promote corperations, but they have their place just like we do. Doesn't mean every corporation is evil, some actually are decent. [ yeah a lot are pretty bad though too ]. My point here is try to be objectional.

"Some could think that it should be possible to get around this security. But probably they would be proved they're wrong."

look how unsure that sentence is.. the guys who wrote that webpage aren't very clear are they? "oh they probably will be proved wrong"... my ass.. anything that can be brought out can be taken apart and found of weakness... anything people can make can be unmade.. same with security. Businesses know this.. but in the mean time they will be making a profit off of all this new stuff, they know it will be defeated, but they want to make a killing while it is in its prime. Just like anything else, they want money like you do they just choose to make it instead of not spending it. [ for example the software situation, they continue making it even tho they know it can be simply pirated, you continue pirating it because it costs you nothing ] Look at it from both sides -- objectional --.

"This bill plans to legally force secure (TCPA-conform) systems. So in the USA it would then not be allowed to buy or sell systems that are not TCPA-conform. Passing this law would be punished with up to 5 years of prision and up to $500.000 fine."

ok isn't copyright infringement like the same cost same amount of money and or time in prison?? Oh yeah that really fucking stops you doesn't it? The MPAA has the same sort of deal, you see it all the time in the beginning of video tapes, and how many video tapes have u copied ? or dvds for that matter? I personally could give a shit less what you do, I have copied stuff before too, but my point is i don't go being hypocritical about companies that try to stop this while i take advantage of it.. thats just fucking stupid..

i hope you took a look at Yourself after this.. its not the fact that TCPA is bad or whatever.. it probably is.. it just irks me that you guys just go along with all this stupid hype.. just hop on the bandwagon with mr-fuckin-opinion. without adding your own to it.. you just agree stubbornly without objection.

I do want to stress that last part very much, because it seems like some of you guys will just think i'm a fuckoff because i don't agree with you [ Which Wasn't The Point Of This Post ] by the way .

i didn't even state my stance. and you're fucking blindly defending some opinion that you don't even have, you're just agreeing. the post was about people who don't question anything. go salute hitler or something instead of throwing my words into the WRONG CONTEXT and insulting me with them.

shows the amount of intelligence some people have .. at least provide some of your own insight to the solution to the problem..damn.

ignorance + opinion leads a long way to nowhere.

oh and don't tell me you didn't "state a stance" if somebody that reads your post can't figure out who you favor i'd be suprised.

I said i didn't HATE them i do not agree with what they're about but i understand why they do what they do. You took it upon yourself to take what i said negatively without even thinking about the CONTEXT of what i said.

I didn't blindly insult everyone. I insulted you directly because you insulted me.

I did NOT state my stance.

and you won't see that because you're too ignorant to realize your head is up your ass.. i wasn't insulting anyone until you came along.

ding dong. hello? I didn't insult you in the first place, and neglected to point that out to you after the first round. All i did was quote what you said, then say the way i thought. You probably shouldn't be so quick to jump to conclusions.
