Ya usually that cpu temp makes sense on load while playing like halo or something... but not idle

I have had this board for a couple of weeks now and its been "interesting"
What I have found is: you must have the `right` memory or you will be pulling your hair out trying to sort out whats wrong with it.
The hardware monitor error (in my case anyway) was it not detecting the cpu fan speed (at the right time ?) Set the option for fan speed monitoring to `ignore` and see if you still get the alarm.
To get it past the 2 second fan spin (apart from having a decent psu) is: jump the cmos AND remove the battery. Go and have a cup of coffee, walk dog, have a beer, watch some tv, whatever, but leave it alone.
Replace battery and push start button.
If you so much as cough near this motherboard, you will have to repeat this proceedure.
My cpu temp was high too. I found it was not giving it the correct voltage in the bios settings
Now : if someone can tell me, how the hell I`m supposed to tell my system, that I really do have a Gigabit Lan on this board, I`d be much happier

New level of K7 performance
The ASUS A7V600 is the only solution that flawlessly combines the VIA KT600 chipset, DDR 400 memory support and 400MHz FSB to deliver excellent performance at an attractive price. Also included are Gigabit LAN, Serial ATA and AGP 8x for high-speed data transfer and peripheral connectivity.

How do you mean?
They forgot to fit it ?????

Bios.
Tried 1005 1006 and the latest (beta 1007)
I have put my old realtek nic back in, am networked, no problems at all.
BUT the onboard lan is not picked up\recognised anywhere.
I have only found 2 other identical faults on the net and no where an answer (except RMA) :/
