Re: Virtual keyboard
I mess up enough with keys to push, imagine how much damage I could do pushing light :P
Cool concept but don't think it'll be something shining on my desktop. No pun intended there :

Re: Virtual keyboard
I think that it is a pretty smart idea cuz that way typists and other computer involved people will be able to type faster, unless the motion response is not that fast. Anyway, i think that it would be easier and quicker for the future of technology. You gotta a point though bout pushing the buttons, it would be weird typing on a table or desk, flat like that. I would also think that it might get annoying to some people around you because i would sound like you are frantically tapping on the desk, and everybody thinks that that is annoying, believe me. ;D

Re: Virtual keyboard
i dont think it will become too big for too long cuz voice recognition kix any typing tool. voice recognition is getting more accurate and cheaper. and the hardware doesn't need to be set up, just have a small mic.
also, you wont need to tap it at all, cuz it just recognizes when its light is being covered up, no sensors planted in tables and desks, etc. This would provide for faster typing, once you get used to it, cuz you only use one sliding motion instead of three motions: up, slide, down. pretty cool for now
edit: yeah, i would mod it too. blue lights are way cooler than any red config.
