Dead Anuts email being sent out

a few days ago I (and other relitives) got some emails from my Aunts account, they were dated 2004 before she died. Anyone have any idea what is going on? I don't think someone would steal an email account to send out old emails to her family members? Or what else could it be?

wtF? contact your ISPs fraud dept. or one of the techs that handles the mail servers so that they can do some back tracking and check the vallidity of the emails..

A lot of attributes of emails can be spoofed, hence why you can sometimes get spam that claims it came from your own email address. It's also possible to spoof or delay a mail server so it will show it as being sent in 2004. In a case like this, I would look at the content of the email.
