AMD sales declined further in 3Q
Processor maker Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) on October 16 posted US$508 million for its third-quarter revenues, slightly higher than its earlier-revised target of US$500 million. However, the company reported a net loss of US$254.2 million for the quarter.
The results were down from US$600 million in sales and US$185 million in net losses AMD released in the second quarter.
The quarter-on-quarter declines were due to weak market demand and the company’s greater processor inventory consumption move in the third quarter, company CFO Robert J. Rivet said.
