Default Win2K and partitions - surely this can't be right?

This afternoon I upgraded a Windows NT partition on my PC to Windows 2000. My PC has always contained multiple partitions with different OS's NT, XP, Win98 etc). I've generally used Partition Magic to switch between them by making the desired partition active (which automatically hides the other ones).

Amazingly, I've discovered that when Win2k is active ALL of the other partitions are assigned a drive letter - even the partitions that are hidden!!! Surely this can't be right? There must be a way of having hidden partitons with Windows 2000, right?? Does anyone know how to hide a partition with Windows 2000?
