now i have another question which probably relates to those who have busted laptops lying around. My sisters has the controller/video card in a little extra piece of hardware that plugs into the mainboard, id love to know if i can mod that so i can use the LCD as a monitor.

Default Laptop LCD PAnels on Desktpop PCs

Dude, you rock. I take back all the condescending things I ever said about Canadians. You have to write out a guide... This is how you achieve web FAME, my friend. Looking forward to your tech. info;

Default LCD thing

please disregard my previous post, I wrote it before i read the complete thread. Bonehead or whatever his name is needs to wake up and realize what CAPITALISM is. No one is going to pay $500 canadian or american to buy instructions when it is cheaper to buy an flat panel the normal way.
BONY-- you could be a legend, man dont be a d*ck.

I'm thinking that it would be pretty nice to have one of the 6 to 8 inch touchscreen LCDs to put on the front of a computer as a second (or third) display showing system performance and statistics.

Default this might help

stumbled onto someone selling lcd conversion kits on ebay. He had a link to all the schematics and pics of how it connects. Thought you all might find it interesting.
