Default Yet......another LCD conversion attempt

Just stumbled across this forum today.....

And to find a year old thread with just what i'm lookin' for [ whats the chance of that happening? ]

Anyhooo.... I got a HP 14" lcd panel stripped outa a 2 yr. old laptop.
And i mean stripped...... no shell - no inverter - nuttin' !!!

The panel is intact with just the metal band holding the guts together.
There are [2] plugs coming out that appear to be (a) LCD data cable and (b) bulb cable from the actual LCD display.

MADE BY : CHUNGHWA
Model number #CLAA141XC01

I'd like to use this as an extended desktop . I have a ATI9700 AIW GPU
and has the extended desktop settings.

"the question" ....... who's the main source for controllers i could use for this panel ?? Since i don't have the inverter , is that gonna be a problem ??

Obviously i'm no tronic techie...... so be gentle.......

If you haven't got an inverter, nothing is going to work for you.
LCD = Digital
PC monitor = Analogue

Default Using an LCD with a PC

Hey guys, I saw that this post mentioned my site, and I figured I'd share some insight...

Most of the newer LCDs can be used with video adapter cards. I don't mean standard VGA cards, but cards that are designed for LCDs. There are PCI -> LCD cards, and there are also Analog -> LCD cards. The Analog cards act as "Loopback" style converters for LCDs. The PCI cards, however, just plug into the PCI slot (duh!) and feature a connector that you can connect to a [RECENT!] barebones LCD. If you have an old 1996 black and white 16 color greyscale pseudo-vga LCD, don't expect to have a lot of success with one of these adapters. However, if your sister just killed the mainboard of your new notebook, and the LCD isn't cracked, shattered, or otherwise tainted; you've got some options. The controller cards aren't exactly cheap, but they're much more afforable than LCDs at around $150 per card. An LCD/controller card combo will likely cost 600-1,000+ so when I say that you have options, I mean you have a more affordable option.

I'm not a member of this site (yet), but in the interim, feel free to fire questions over to me at: cbergeron@dashpc.com (site: www.dashpc.com)

Cheers,
CB

Default GUESS WHO'S back only to find myself verbally lapidated

just read up on the thread .

You guys are pathetic(only the ones that showed so much impatience that they had to verbally bring me down)

AND BY THE WAY
i never said 500 for the instructions(READ CAREFULLY GUYS as I'M SAYING IT AGAIN)

WAS SELLING THE KITS FOR 500$

now the kits include a more common card since the 7500 showed stability problems in using the custom drivers

the 7000 is more reliable(not as powerful HENCE THE PRICE DROP)

the kits are selling great and you guys really fucked it up for others on this forum ... as this is my last entry. all you flammers can go to hell.

if you want a kit , come to my door in Gatineau Quebec to buy one. if not ... please by all means add me to your MSN and flame away ...

the website will not be going online due to investers interests and patent agreements.

the offline version of the website is currently on a CD ROM in my office where it shall remain.

the company interested in purchasing the patent will be releasing a product design and you can be sure that they will charge more than 219$

As for capitalism ... We live in a capitalist world you have 2 choices ... accept it and try to get rich or DON"T .. which ever one u choose, i could not care less but capitalism has allowed me to make money to pay for my parents 30 year anniversary ... a BOAT and a nice one too!!!!!!!!!!

What I'd like to know is where Bonebox gets his customers because these kits have been there for a while, and for much cheaper. Also they are not made in someones home, but a factory.
