Actually the BFG is clocked higher, however reputable sites have reported that both cards are great performers. I haven't looked into which overclocks better, which I assume you are going to want to know with how much you generally OC.

just because they're clocked higher doesn't mean it'll OC higher.. that basically means it comes OC'd a little bit...

That isn't what I said. I stated that I do not have a clue about how either will overclock.

i know, I was just pointing out that their starting clock rate doesn't really matter

I went with Gainward because you can get an Ultra for the price of GT ($$$ savings) and with a manufacture's warranty to back it up really tells me the engineers designed this card to perform at Ultra speeds, where as eVGA and BFG did not. Gainward is the only one to step up to the plate on this warranty!

The lifetime warranty is really unrealistic. What good is it to hold on to a Trident video card if it offered lifetime warranty?

yea it does, lets not assume that everyone who buys a 6800GT will overclock. SO the people who buy the ones w/ higher clock frequencies and who DO NOT OC will be more satisfied.

those who don't OC don't deserve to be satisfied ..

That entire statement is horse hockey. The BFG is cheaper than the Gainward and is clocked higher out of the box, has a MGF lifetime warranty and is supported by 24/7 toll free tech support.

Plus, it don't sound like a hoover vaccume cleaner like the Gainward (can you say 5800?).

I think both cards are great and neither one really outperforms the other. I went sensibly with my decision. Localy bought in case I have to take it back, lifetime warranty, free 24/7 support, and performs just as good as the next. If mine is DOA or craps out in a week, I take it back instead of having to send it off to the online retailer (if they take returns).
