The Zen, iRiver, and others are better than the iPod, though, anyways. iPod just has the biggest name at the moment.

I have an i-river and am a little disappointed..

it has frozen up on me 3 or 4 times.. (really annoying.. have to poke something up its butt)

The interface is lousy compared to the ipod's...

and with the ipod's price drop, the only thing the i-river has over the ipod is battery life and format support.... (sure is nice to play ogg's)

[but I do have the older one.. the new one looks nice)

I don't realy think that iPod is realy good player at all. MS is god damn.... I use my Icemat audio. Small, 256 usb player. I don't need anything else. And if i need some new music i can easily download it again. That's the deal.

If u don't know - https://www.icemat.com/shop/default.asp?main=products

Try SoundTaxi! It helps me to cut DRM protection from audio!
