Default really..?

what raid did you runthem at..?? mirrored or like raid 0 or..?? My buddy has a 4 drive array and that think smokes most everything I have seen on the benchmarks. I would love to know more info on your scenerio I am not a raid expert but from the few systems I have seen running it I have been very impressed, I do know there is many many ways to run a raid array, so which did you choose for better speed..?

I used RAID0. That's the best for speed. If you run it with parity it slows down a bit. I am going to write an article on it comparing one IDE drive to three on a SCSI raid. I don't have an ATA-133 raid controller so I won't be able to use that.

Default Hmm... *LOL*

DOn't ya think that is a little lopsided..?? Why not compare 1 ata 133 and then 1 ultra 160. OR then mabey 2-3 ultra 160 drives and 2-3 ata 133 drives, wel all know already who will win that contest scsi is very fast If ya need benchmarks from an ata 133 drive I have both "passamark" and also sandra for testing. Let me know ok!

Default Oh yeah

I have a 40gb ata 133 and an 80 gb ata 133, also would be a good note is the cost of the drives and also the physical size the drive hold, but you probably thought of that

Yeah that would be great. I really think that the SCSI drives are going to blow away the ata drives. My raid controller is a cheapo one but the idea is to show people that they can afford to use a SCSi raid. I am wondering if it will increase my 3DMark scores

Default cool cool

Probably not your 3d mark scores, but will help in allot of area's. My local stor has a 120 gb IBM drive for $129.99 right now out the door, and it is 7200rpm and ata100. Think I am gonna buy it for my backup system. Catch ya later
