All of you do realize you can play just about all of the consoles you named above on the XBox right?

http://xport.xbox-scene.com/

Nothing like playing a little Pitfall from the Atari 2600, Super Mario from the NES, or some Mario Kart from the 64 all on the XBox.

It's not setup right then... mine has been working flawless.

I highly recommend something like this to anyone. I bought a second XBox for the living room, and it's not for playing games. 90% of the use of it is playing movies(played from a network share on PC), MP3's, and internet radio. I couldn't have built a cheaper home theater PC for $160 with all the power this one has(dolby digital out and component video out).

In any analog conversion there is always significant quality loss. I wonder if the next generation of game consoles will use DVI or HDMI connections. (For those who believe that HDMI is a better technology [based on the IEEE-1394 standard], I'm here to say you are wrong, since it doesn't use lossless compression, DVI doesn't use any compression at all and is the only lossless connection available)

Component is little more than a "little plug".

Looks like component, says component, and works like component....everyone else calls it component.
