Mac's whole notion of megahertz don't matter is valid, but only when it comes to competing with Intel. It is true that a G5 2.0GHz system will outperform a P4 2.0GHz system. But then why won't their 2.0GHz systems beat an AMD64 2.0GHz system? The only reason Mac had the "fastest" processor at the time was because MS hadn't readied their 64-bit version for AMD as it was scheduled to have been released. So, even though the Opterons could run Photoshop faster, it didn't count because it wasn't using a home OS, rather a business OS. So the whole G5 hype was unfounded in my opinion. And yeah the P4EE's urn the G5's, but then the FX-51's burn those. AMD rules!

Almost a fanboy - but not quite.. The 2500+ is tempting, but wasn't enough to sway me.. The new intel chipsets are just too good.. mostly..

What about the FX-51's? Or if price is considered in this, there are the 64-bit 3000+'s that perform amazingly.

because he is a stalker and he is after you! Quick, hire lawyers and bodyguards!

Yea vee $ is always an issue for me - I get the best bang for the buck 90% of the time. The 2.4 flying soo high makes it the best value for me.

Wow, I feel stupid... The whole point of my previous post was to point out the price of the chips! At newegg.com they have the 64-bit 3000+'s (on socket-754) for $220. Pretty competitive pricing.
