It's annoying to make an involved post only for a staff member to call it succinctly "pointless".
I do see the point, and calling it pointless is probably a bad choice of words. And I wasn't directing that comment at anyone specifically, just the arguing part of it all. I do agree though, having a name like that will likely attract unwanted attention and criticism.

I don't get what you mean here.

Yeah, when I worked there for my one day I really wondered how some of those people actually got their jobs. On the other hand though there were a few that really knew stuff and probably should have been somewhere better.

The biggest thing that bugged me though were the callers and their "problems". When some of them were easily fixed by saying "you need to plug in your computer first". I guess some people just don't have common sense haha, and it's stressing the hell out of the rest of us.

I wish I had to punt it to break it... the stand wasn't my main argument though... I basically just kept pounding that I wanted an exchange period.

Ok, xMerCLorDx I give up, you clearly have been arond alot longer than me and have more experence, The most impressive thing in your mile long post was the antina and the lan. Thats the stuff I want to learn to do. LAN, I can do on a small scale (i "only" have 4 computers). But I havent got the chance yet to ""toy"" with wifi yet.

If you really want to know a little more about what i can do you can checkout my forum ( http://htmb.stwebs.net ).

I like your mixed message here. You claim no problem with Indians, then you call them morons. Way to maintain mutual cultural ignorance!

I don't know what you're giving up on actually, I'm not trying to win anything.

If you want to know about my antenna setup. Basically I got two 8 foot poles, a chimney strap, a 20dBi directional antenna from http://www.fab-corp.com/, a d-link 802.11b wireless access point, and a PoE [power over ethernet] adapter, and a copper ground rod, some metal wiring to tie down the poles, and some eyehook screws for the roof and epoxy to seal.

The problem with this setup was that I couldn't get any sort of good signal to my friends house, and the detection method was sketchy because I was using only the software on the d-link access point. It would have been better if I hooked up a stronger radio to get the signal, with nicer software that didn't have to find the ssid, and could look at all packets.

As for the LAN, before I moved we had a pretty big lan with about 50 people. It was fun to setup and we had plenty of more ports to spare if only we could get more gamers to come. The power worked out alright and we had people doing kegstands on the rootbeer keg. It was sorta sponsored by nVidia, they gave us a package of stuff advertising their stuff, glowey urinal cakes [actually sticky pads that glow that you stick to a computer serving no function] and a poster or somethin. We had about 8 strips of tables lined up, and a 24 port switch at each table I think. Administrating it wasn't bad, it was kinda funny when people were seriously mad that some people outperformed them at games, they conspired to watch their screen to prove they hacked and such, which was not the case.

If you're interested in any more details I'm down to talk about it whenever.

I tried browsing your forum, it worked for a little bit. I was browsing the HTML section, when I went up to show the topics I got one of these: "phpBB : Critical Error Could not connect to the database" wtf?

Ok I see I have worded my previous comment wrongly. Let me change it: I have nothing against the Indians that are on the phone, I understand them perfectly and they're a-ok. I just get mad because DELL doesn't understand their own products.

When I said "their LACK of intelligence" I was referring to Dell in general, not Indians. lol my bad.. should have put a period. See how small grammatical error can make things awry
