Ports and connectors

The sound card has a truck load of features and software to back it up. The back of the card where you are to plug in your speakers is not too different from previous models of Sound Blaster line with its three audio out jacks to provide you with 5.1 ~ 7.1 surround sound. This ExtremeGamer version also comes with an AD-Link port where the old game port use to reside. This AD-Link is for the X-Fi I/O Console Upgrade Kit which TWL hasn't gotten our hands on yet, but are diligantly awaiting its arrival.

The card has its standard three Audio out and a digital port which is a shared port with the MIC
AD-Link
The AD-Link port shown here replaces the old Game port. Which means those who have an old joystick which needs the gameport will have to find an alternative.

Conclusion

The Creative Sound Blaster Fatal1ty signature edition with X-RAM (64MB) and X-Fi technology is a sound card that is worth every penny. For those out there who are using on-board sound, hands down you will be impressed with what a positive difference this card will show you. With the 64MB of X-RAM giving your processor a break from rendering the audio but also giving the gamer an advantage of hearing more of their environment where other sound cards don’t render all the additional channels leaving the gamer in the preverbal dark. The additional flexibility of taking this sound card from one rig to the next upgrade, gives the user the ability transfer the ultimate audio performance from one system to another. Where others who use on-board audio may need to obtain a sound card or deal with the lack of EAX Advanced HD sound in games.
