The Guts:

All the following pictures already contain a motherboard, cpu, humongous heat sink, and graphics card inside the case. I got a bit excited when I opened the box and wanted to set up the machine, forgetting I had an obligation to review the product before I was allowed to play. When I remembered, I was far to lazy to take everything out. Not because instillation was hard, because this case has the easiest motherboard install I have ever seen! Until you decide to attach the damn monster of a heat sink that is the Scythe Ninja Plus CPU Cooler. But that is a review for another day.

When you open up the Metal Boned K7, using the easy thumb screws on both sides, you find a steel frame, fitted with three 120mm fans (two in the front pointed in, one in the back pointed out), a removable motherboard tray that actually simply folds down after being unscrewed (again, simple thumb screws) that allows for easy removal and install, easy cable management system and clamps around the back of the motherboard tray, with in and out holes. The power supply is not held in place by simple brackets like in most cases, but has a full cradle that supports the power supply and helps minimize vibration.

The back of the case even has removable tabs for water cooling tubes if that is your method of cooling. The hard drive rack has room for five 3.5" drives, plus the floppy drive slot if you wished to use that for a hard drive instead. This is one of the roomiest cases I have ever seen, with plenty of room for a large Geforce 8800, and even the Scythe Ninja Plus CPU Cooler I mentioned above in my disclaimer.

Easy installation seems to be the theme inside the case. Front and back panals coming off with thumb screws, a motherboard try that folds out and is easily removed, even the top of the case can be removed if it would make your instilation easier, all point to an easy install. The IO case port cables are easily labled as well, but that's not all. Cable management is huge in this case, too. With a system in place to easily rout cables behind the motherboard try, and a couple cable clamps located on the top and front of the case, plus an accessory bag included in the box that has more clamps and zip ties, make this case an OCD cable management person's dream. The included case fans even give you the option of either plugging into the motherboard or straight to the power supply, allowing you to install them how YOU want them, then removing the excess plug. Check out some more of the user friendly features on the LANCOOL website.
