Kingwin RVT-9225, RVT-12025, and RVT-12025D CPU Coolers

Conclusion:

So, what did we learn here? Well, out of the three, The RVT-12025D obviously performed the best, but its victory was only a slight one. Its cousin, the RVT-12025 was only slightly worse off. The original, the RVT-9225, just didn't compete very well with the newer generation of HDT technology coolers. That is not to say it was a bad cooler, not in the slightest. It was only a little bit hotter than the Scythe Ninja, which HAD been the best cooler I have looked at to date. So really, any of the three Kingwin coolers here would be great if you were looking for an effective cooler for your new performance rig, but there are some things to consider. The RVT-12025D is the coolest (both in looks and in temp), but it also takes up the most space. It does have plenty of clearance under it for ram and other chips, but it could bump into some other things in your case if you don't have a lot of room. If space is an issue, the RVT-12025 is the next best choice, but it is tall. If your case is not very deep, there is a possibility it might not fit. If that's the case, then down you go to the RVT-9225. Any of these are worth the money, but it depends on your needs and the space you have to work with.

That all being said, well done Kingwin. You have made some great coolers, using some innovative techniques which appear to have paid off. I didn't get conclusive evidence on my theory as to the "splash effect" of the RVT-12025D fan blowing through the heatsink directly onto the heat block resting on the CPU, but maybe that was the deciding factor, making it the slightly more effective CPU Cooler. Whatever the reason, I now have a new favorite cooler: the RVT-12025D.
