Razer Lachesis 4000dpi Gaming Mouse
Introduction
A true gamer is always looking for the edge on their competitors by using the latest hardware or by taking advantages of game or opponent weaknesses. The engineers from Razer have released a new gaming mouse to assist the gamers with an edge over their prey with their latest Lachesis mouse.
The Lachesis does not fall short on customization when it comes to features. Most gaming mice may have an extra button or two to assist with tracking speed, but Lachesis has nine plus the scroll. The software which comes with the mouse allows the gamer to set multiple profiles for the mouse buttons which can be stored on the mouse itself via an on-board chip. A High End Gaming Mouse:
Building upon their already impressive gaming mouse lineup Razer has added the Lachesis which is at the top end of their gaming mice. The Lachesis boasts some impressive specifications but before we get into that let's talk about why you might be interested and moreover need a gaming mouse. In the past a ball mouse was all anyone needed to move around in games. Optical mice replaced the ball and removed problems inherent to ball mice, namely dirt and build up on the rollers and balls that plagued smooth movement. Mice built specifically for gaming is an arena dominated by Razer, they are the innovators, and their mice are usually found in the hands of the top gamers. Most gamers are familiar with two camps, Logitech and Razer with Microsoft being a third choice but usually not a favorite. The G5 has won the hearts of many and Razer's products have won an equal amount.
Razer mice all have the same distinctive smooth feel and refined glide across any mousing surface. The Lachesis adds a few more buttons and refines the Razer design even further but its real improvements come with whats under the hood.
Design:
Beneath the slick black rubberized finish and glowing razer logo lay a 4000dpi 3G laser sensor. Thats right we said 4000dpi which is exactly twice the highest rating on the G5. We're sure that more than one Razer Executive has had their chuckle over that at the expense of Logitech. The right and lef click mouse buttons are oversized allowing for a wider array of grip styles and patters whereas the G5's right and left click buttons are slim and narrow in comparison.

Razer has taken a design element from the G5 and implemented two top center buttons just beneath the scroll wheel. The G5 uses a texturized surface on some models whereas razer has stuck with the rubberized surface on the Lachesis. The grip style is very much up to personal choice but we find we like the rubberized surface more. The G5 also has a higher stance and is much more rounded than the Lachesis, but this is again personal choice. We do absolutely love the glowing mouse wheel and the fading/glowing Razer logo which does attract stares of awe where ever its taken.
